All-Town Sound

All-Town Sound (ATS) is a San Diego based record label that intersects the heavier sides of Funk, Afrobeat, Cumbia, Soul, Reggae, and beyond. Founders Tim, Mitchum, and Seiji brought me in to help create the brands image. We developed the brand logo, main color palette, and the label for the first record.

The ATS projects continue to broaden my vision. They force me to explore outside the corporate world and dig deep into music niches and the organic sounds that comes from many different cultures. The history of these genres is wide and rich. It exudes a natural quality thats alive with movement. To really encapsulate this emotion, we apply an earthly tone and roughness to each project.

The overall branding evolves through the freedom and variation of each vinyl label. The labels are created in collaboration with the musicians that are releasing the new singles as well as the ATS Founders. We play with the visuals to align the song’s feel, band image, and ATS’ image. Currently, we are working on ATS-08.

The first full length record produced by ATS was for the live album by Sure Fire Soul Ensemble. The bands lead (Tim, also founder of ATS) wanted to create a cover with the band playing at Balboa Park to represent the albums set played at Panama 66.
